Care Instructions for Encaustic Art

Encaustic art is durable and archival when cared for properly:

• Avoid direct sunlight or extreme heat: While the wax is stable at room temperature, prolonged exposure to heat (above 120°F / 49°C) may soften the surface.
• Dust gently: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a gentle brush. Do not use water or cleaning products.
• Buffing (optional): Over time, you can gently buff the surface with a soft cloth to restore its natural sheen.
• Do not frame under glass: The wax needs to breathe, and glass can trap moisture or cause sticking.
